  Been looking for a beetle convertible for a few years now. Saw and test drove what looked like a good car a week ago and put a deposit down. As everyone says, a no pressure sale with David,who is a lovely guy. However, on returning home we became a bit sceptical about the full service history as advertised, as book not stamped. After a bit of investigating, we could find no manufacturers service record for first three years at least, so decided to walk away, losing our deposit in the process. A lesson learned, we should have questioned more at time of putting deposit down....putting things politely.

  We had an altogether good experience with Alistair Buchan Ltd. They are quietly hospitable and easy to do business with. The car was well presented when we visited. It was the best of four we viewed across Scotland and they are clearly selective about what they buy in. The car was priced correctly for a Volvo XC90 of its age, specification and mileage. They were happy for us to test drive ourselves. The points I highlighted - limited life front tyres, cosmetic damage to rear bumper - were properly taken care of pre-delivery, as were a couple of other issues they identified as part of their checks. On delivery it looked great and drives very well. Recommended.
